Solved (yesterday) issue with radiator which existed for at least 2 years. Electrician said that it was the inner part of the control gear (which controls the tap?faucet? of the radiator, something like that he said) which needed adjustment, and when I was trying to operate the radiator combined with the air fan, incoming air was cold (was not warmed up by the system)

Because it is always a good idea to proceed to engine etc. upgrades, but it's November and even in Greece it starts getting chilly...

Mechanic noticed that at idle, air is still getting a bit cold and claims this is due to the age of the radiator. Above 1000 rpm everything's fine now and with a warmed up engine the radiator is fine. Now, I know this is a technical one, but if anyone has a clue why this is happening at idle, I would really appreciate opinions

I am just wondering whether the radiator part itself may be partially clogged by some rust ?

Actually they sell the Sofica one for 140 euro and the Behr for 110 euro
I do believe that I have the Behr
I was hoping that by entering the VIN number into the search engine of the BMW Classic parts shop, they would show which one between the two my car has
But they do not. Probably because both can be fitted if the whole thing is changed? (If the radiator and housing of the same type are bought together...)

You mean they can be mixed?
I can order which ever radiator I like? Even if my car has the other type of housing fitted?
I thought that there are some differences with the hoses, so no mixes can be done

If you entered your VIN it should tell you which ones fit your car, and otherwise you would see a difference in the years of application.

Finally found the time to take the car to an electrician yesterday (as I don't seem to work the diy thing so much)

Long list of bigger issues and smaller bits, being gathered for some years now-but never found the time to solve them. Starting with almost no-or weak heating (yes even in Athens you need some heating during winter), and ending with a bulb not lighting inside the console (bulb is working, contact is lost somewhere)
I will come back with more detail in my build thread when I take the car.

Hopefully a better car if/when all these will be sorted
