c1 2.3 exhaust and engine bits

Post by inkatouring »

I'm in the (very slow) process of pulling my Alpina c1 apart. The car has been modified and had parts stolen from it. I want to (try) to bring it back to stock.

So, it has headers and a supersprint exhaust. What did the c1 2.3 use?

Once I start tearing the engine down, I know I'll need more info, like con rods, pistons, valves, etc. Are those stock? I assume not the pistons (as I understand it has higher compression, But what about the other engine internal parts?

Thanks in advance.

Different pistons, cam and modded head is what I read on this rubbish website that has scans from the original brochures  also an Alpina dual exhaust system but no details.

Thanks for the reference to the rubbish web site. I've seen pics of headers in c1 2.3s but also read those Alpina materials. Not sure if the headers were added later on the cars in the pictures or if Alpina did that. Knowing Alpina back then, they did whatever you ordered, but curious if there is some knowledge out there......

Yeah fully agree, but especially on the C1 it appears there wasn't much structure in the actions of Alpina or their dealers. But there must be some more detailed info out there...
