fuel sender

Post by PeterCS »

I bought a new sender. However the new sender has two hose connections and my old one had only one!

I am guessing that i should plug the larger connection.

Thoughts?

Here is a pic of the old versus new.

thanks,

BMW is more and more trying to combine parts, looks like you get the sender from the fuel injection versions these days, which has a return pipe which is the smaller one indeed. Make sure to stop it off or you're having fuel smells and or leaks... otherwise should be fine.

Joeren - are you sure I should not be blocking the larger pipe. The larger pipe takes a larger hose than the one I originally had.
thanks for the prompt reply.

Could be but you should be able to see which goes where. The pick up pipe is the one that goes all the way down and has a mesh filter.
