(suspension sound)edited: Noises from inside my Dash?
Any ideas in order to have quieter (like modern cars) suspension at road bumps/holes etc (of course one can't understand the condition of greek roads unless one drives here) without compromising in ride height?

Nope, i'm telling him no one is going to take a picture of bushes or ball joints for him and he should just google it.lol There is somone who has a signature on here which says something like "if you dont know what you are doing, pay someone who does" Thats me all over. I dont need to be technically minded, i have enough people round me who are
Re: suspension sound
English isnt his first language, which is why hes asking for a better explanation from us, i dont mind helping him - I think hes a pleasent enough a person.
He could google it but then if i said the same to you when you asked me what coilovers were the other day, then you would have thought i was being a nob?
in fact this thread reminded me of a song i heard earlier by Carl Thomas
Karma (comes back around)
Everybody wants to be the boss,
Everybody wants the spotlight but don't wanna pay the cost,
Me I give a kid direction if he says he's lost,
Some suckers want attention That's why they love to floss.
But me I don't care about that there
You say you from the hood, you can't go back there.

Re: suspension sound
hahahaha, no what i actually asked was what is so special about GAZ coilovers, a genuine question from a guy who knows f*** all about cars.
Anyway, stop singing songs to me and get your Pentax camera out and give the guy a helping hand.
BTW, when u coming to fit my coilover and Wilwoods. I dont know f*** all about car but i make a mean cup of tea.

Re: suspension sound
I don't imagine Greek google has much in the way of car parts in English. I always thought the point of forums was to be able to ask like minded people for help / advice anyway?
There's nothing special about GAZ coilovers, they're just cheaper than the alternatives from the likes of LEDA or TEIN. LEDA quoted me £1 700 but GAZ cost nowhere near that amount. Those people that took advantage of the group buy saved themselves £70. Coilovers can also be rebuilt and springs are way cheaper if you want to experiment with rates. Obviously you can also play with ride heights.

Re: suspension sound
Ok guys, stop quarelling it was just a question, of course I can google it, and now Mark's reply born a new question to me: If GAZ is not something special then is there a reason to prefer it over standard BILSTEIN and some lowering springs?
What's the difference with coilover suspension?
I know, I know, I am all questions...

Re: suspension sound
Personally, I think Bilstein and Konis are about the best regular suspension set-up with whatever lowering springs you choose. Coil-overs are really for people who want to be able to have maximum adjustment of their suspension. Especially ride-height. Obviously they look trick too. Obviously they are expensive, although the street version is far cheaper. They differ from GAZ golds by only being adjustable for ride height and not bump & rebound.

Re: suspension sound
are there differences in driving feel and road holding between normal set ups and coil overs?
If tomorrow I fit GAZ (for road use not track days) what differences am I going to have in driving feel versus my current BILSTEIN+APEX??

Re: suspension sound
It all depends on how you set up the coilovers. You could run the same spring rate as your current suspension and it would feel exactly the same but with the added bonus of being able to choose your own ride height. You can pretty much choose whatever spring rate you like.
