HELP plz. e21 6cylinder brake booster

Post by youngbwoy »

good day,

i need some help guys.

i have a e21 6cylinder but the brake booster needs replacing. i cant find the exact one(part # 34 33 1 121 966).
i've however found a e21 320i part # 34331157416 or e12 part # 34331150741 online. could these work?
if so, is it a easy swap? could you outline the steps to get it done?

as you can see, i"m just an amateur. Ive been searching online but cant seem to find any answers. please help. THANKS

They are all the same across engine sizes.

From my experience the LHD and RHD master cylinders are handed, the ports are on different sides and are not interchangeable. no idea about the diaphragm unit, although they shouldn't be handed.

i, too, face a similar problem. i have a RHD, though. what do you recommend? buy any e21 booster even though the part # varies?

Young lost,

I could have used a Lhd cylinder, but it would have meant re-piping the lines, so I just fitted new seals to the old cylinder, which was in good condition.
