320/6 gearbox

Hi guys

Can any one tell if a gearbox from a 1978 320/6 would fit a 1982 320/6?

I wasn’t sure if there were differences between them

Maybe the mating flange?

Aslong as it is an m20 gearbox you are ok. All m20 boxes fit all m20 engines. Only pint is that older bmw's get their speedo signal from the gearbox. This goes for the e21 and e12 for example. So those boxes have the mechanical speedo cable hole.

In short, 1978 320/6 box fits the 1982 m20 perfect.
