Re: Unique classic BMW event on August 28, 2010!
The official press release
First ever Sharknose Meet a huge success!
Saturday, August 28 2010 was the first time for the Sharknose Meeting for classic and youngtimer BMW's. Exceeding everyones' expectation and hope the cars kept coming and coming! The parking lot was soon filled to the brim with all kinds of BMW's and 99.9% in a beautiful condition. The atmosphere among the owners and visitors was one of shared BMW fanatism, one big family chatting and exchanging experiences. All found their ways to the market stalls to lay there hands on parts and accessories and on NOS... including many NLA parts, we saw many surprised and happy faces. The two showers that tried to interrupt the event never influenced the great atmosphere. We never had the time for an official count but a rough estimate is that a total of 200 cars, among which 60 E21's, turned up, fabulous!
Early afternoon we were able to hand out the prizes based on the votes of the public jury, the findings of the appraisal expert and a team of sharknose experts. Prizes went to to Arnold for his beautifully restored E21 B6 (1st), a 1600-2 convertible and 2002 turbo were the close runners up. Choosing these cars was not easy with so many beautiful cars, in fact the list of potential winners was long! After that it was time for the scenic drive and 75% of the cars participated in having a look around. Needless to say no cars broke down and all had a great trip to arrive back at the premises little over one hour later. Some more chatting and off to a wonderful dinner with over 100 enthousiasts to finish the day in the same fantastic atmosphere as we had seen all day. The first Sharknose Meeting was a fact, and it marks the start of a new tradition. Next years' Sharknose Meeting will be bigger and better, but we are sure it will feel the same! Thanks to all participating for making this the best BMW event in years![/quote]
And some photos. More in the dutch photo topic at http://www.bmwe21.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=12178

Hello<
Went to the Meeting in Wezep. One word..... Fantastic! FAP
Now I would like to visit some meetings in Germany, Belgium or somewhere else in Europe. Who knows when there are nice BMW meetings? And then especially E21 or classical BMW's.
Greetings!

Nice to hear! Ehm well, I guess the largest meeting... was yesterday! Other large BMW gatherings can be found in Germany, there was a nice one during the OGP early August. But not as many cars as you've seen on the Sharknose Meet!
