French based Peter Auto once started with the Le Mans Classic event, and this is growing into a whole range of Classic events including Silverstone Classic, Imola Classic, Le Mans Classic and Spa Classic to name but a few. With Spa being my favorite track I try to go there a couple of times each year and this is one of the best occasions one can think of. Group C, the 1950's cigars, and all the flaming BMW's like the M1, too good to miss! I'll be there all 3 days. For an exclusive report on the 2013 edition click here.

BTW I wil also be at the Le Mans Classic in July, will start a topic on that one at a later stage as well.
Dispite the preperations of the Sharknose Meeting, I would like to share some pictures I made last weekend at the Spa Classic. I visited this event with Jeroen and picked out 3 highlight per day!
Friday, very nice day trying to enjoy all of the cars present. Playing with the setting of my camera to get some nice individual shots of the cars. Tried to add speed to the pictures and I must say that I can't complain.
Saterday, time for action, including the flamethrowing M1! On of the other guests of our hotel drove a Cuda and if it wasn't hard enough he found time to find us on every piece of track we went.
Sunday, trying to complete all of the missing pictures. Looking for the most interesting point and find some action shots (the flamethrowing M12 was hard for me!). At all I found some nice spots and compositions, but most of all enjoyed all the cars with special interest for the screaming Mazda 787B!
In all, a spectacular line-up of cars at a great event, good thing the weather was great! Saw a lot of special cars, made some great pictures, couple of movies (bad quality) and met some great people. More to follow.

A few more for now. There's lots more, hope to have some more time to process a few next week.
Dutchmen David Hart and Hans Hugenholtz terribly fast in their Shelby Cobra
Enough variety in their 60's class
Still quite a few Porsche's, including this 2.8 RSR
Wonderful paddock view, pic taken at the start of the Italian Trofeo Nastro Rosso race
Mean and fast Maserati 300S in the same class (believe 2nd or 3rd overall behind the unbeatable Gaye)
My favorite but not fast enough to drive up front among the 275's, the 250 GTB, Clive Joy's in this case
Sideways 275
Lola T70's
UR warned! New pads and rotors!
Just like last year we had great fun with Christophe in his Plymouth Hemicuda. During the race he was able to find us wherever we stood, and point at us! (see Gerwin's pic above)
More Groep C action, including several ledendary Porsche's 962
956C
Sound of the weekend was for the four-rotor Mazda 767B from the Werner brothers. Screaming like crazy, the on board video below is a must see
So, for tonight I uploaded some pictures of the Heritage Touring Cup at Spa Classic. In action the CSL, E24, 02, some American cars and a couple of other European cars!

Can we ditch all this modern hybrid crap at Le Mans and just mandate that you can only enter in a 25+ year old Racecar? Sooooo much porn in this thread!
I feel exactly the same! I used to do the regular 24 Hours but I stopped when the tdi's and e-trons emerged and moved to the classic stuff. Racecars should rumble and scream!
Last year I was at the regular 24 hrs was in 2006. After seeing and (not!) hearing Audi's tdi I decided it was enough. It's not all bad, most GT2 cars are still old school these days!
The manufacturers always argue that it's all to do with promoting new technologies and for environmental reasons, but they seem to forget that it's only the real petrolheads that follow motorsport and pay any damn attention to the technology in the cars, and near as dammit everyone want's real engines!
