The carburatorproblem can be many things. Wrong adjustment from the throttlecable, wrong setting of the idle screw. Not good functioning of the warming up unit (automatic choke) etc etc.

I hear that it runs and reacts right at the movement of the throttle.

i forgot to say that the trotthe cable is not conect on the carburator.could this be the problem?

It depends of what year the carb. is. The early ones had a big screw which adjust the idle speed. The later models had a small screw at the lever that is mounted at the throtle and where the cable is placed.

That must take care of the idle speed. If the cable is conected and the tension is wrong you can have a difficult running carb also but mostly it stays running.

mine have a small screw.i try to turn him ,to push the trottle, but have no effect.sunday i'm gonna conect the cable to the trottle and i hope it's work.i hope you understand what i'm trying to say here...

yesterday i get another e21.it is an 318i.the problem it's with the wire system,it's completly missing from the car.i have another electrical system from another e21 but the engine it's injection and the electric system it's diferent .what can i do?

did anyone of you have the electrical wire system for 318i engine? or diagram or something...? this car's missing completly the wire system from engine .tomorow i'm gonna make some picture to see exactly what the problem it's.

yes.all of them are cut.for a short time it was the home of the homelles people and they are cutting the wire to sell them.homelles people=stupid people.3 years ago i try to get this car when she was in a good condition but the owner don't want to sell her,he want to get her to a car cimitery.now,after 3 years i finaly get it but in this condition.i save her from total degradation.she have a nice interior.

LOL! They only sold the wires? Surely they could have sold the car with the wires in it and make more money. And then buy a tent as a home or something
