That happened to me aswell, with my white E21 when the buyer came to test drive it, it made a bang so loud that it ripped the whole exhaust appart... he bought it anyway
Re: 315 e21 Opalgrün metallic
that's crazy ! E21 are strange cars
I made a new homemade exhaust by the way, Total cost : 15£, and it's not going to break apart, Strong enough for many years ! And sounds really good not too quiet, not too loud !

Re: 315 e21 Opalgrün metallic
Sounds cool what have you done to the exhaust just new middle box or?
Re: 315 e21 Opalgrün metallic
Yes, it sound pretty good ! i'm really happy with it
I deleted the whole tube labyrinth inside the stock exhaust, leaving only a straight pipe inside the muffler ( the original main tube, with a lot of small holes drilled in it ),
Then I wanted to wrap this tube with stainless steel wool, but it's really expensive, so I bought some Stainless steel scrubbers and wrap that tube with them, Then I wrapped everything with rockwool, a little bit of Welding, black paint and Done ! Cheap and easy muffler
I'm going to make a dual exhaust soon, using the same method for the second muffler ..

Re: 315 e21 Opalgrün metallic
Some polishing, maybe ?
Re: 315 e21 Opalgrün metallic
Got my hand on a pretty rare rear spoiler ! ( The spoiler isn't fixed to the car, as you can see there is too much rust, I will fix the rust first ! )
Re: 315 e21 Opalgrün metallic
Found some seats, need to reupholster them both, but what a deal ! ( 60€ for both )
Re: 315 e21 Opalgrün metallic
Need advice guys ! I would really love a dual exhaust , but I don't want the car to look " riced ", Do you think it's a bad idea to do it ?

Re: 315 e21 Opalgrün metallic
Dual as in like the 323i with one on either side? At least that's some kind of original haha

Re: 315 e21 Opalgrün metallic
Absolutely, exactly like a 323i, not some 80mm straight pipe pointing to the sky don't worry, I want it discreet, but it really looks beautiful, the problem is that this car is a 315, not a 323i, scared of being ridiculous
