Black 316 still here

Post by joe14 »

Hi Everyone,

I'm finally posting as a proud E21 owner. I picked this little beauty up from David, and I understand its had a few forum member owners before him. So good that it will live on here.
I've finally taken ownership of it after working away from home for a few weeks so time to enjoy.

I've no major plans for altering the car just yet, my initial plan was to stick it back on the mims but the 13's have surprisingly grown on me after seeing them in person.

For now a little pic,

Image

I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions as time goes on.

Cheers,
Joe

So, no change to the car so far, except the odometer.
I'm getting out there and enjoying the car, racking up over 500 miles between a trip to Wales and Retro Rides.

A couple of quick pics,

So a while without an update.

Before Christmas I took the e21 into Mals customs and classics.
There was a very small bit of scabby surface poking out from under the windscreen and I wanted to get it sorted.
We were expecting a little hole in the corner so it was a surprise when this appeared under the screen.

The rust was completely concealed under the seal.
Lots of fabrication for Mal then but it's all sorted now.
Hopefully he can provide a nice pic of it welded up.

I also applied liberal amounts of this stuff to all sorts of corners around the car.

Lots of brown..

The car is now in storage at my parents in Southern Ireland, it made the long trip without fault.
I really enjoyed getting into clear roads away from the Manchester traffic. It reminded me how much I love driving it.

Oh I've also put the 15" mims back on, I'm really likening the look and it's much less twitchy with the smaller tyres.
