Introducing The Little Apple: mint/mint 1977 316

Post by Jeroen »

Proud to present a new apple of our eye. The little engine that could, eh still can! This Mintgrün 1977 316 is an automobile cherished to the max, and is pretty much unchanged since it was handed over to its first owner, who then maniacally maintained the car, and the maintenance history! Everything is documented, from the order form and sales invoice to the latest maintenance, and every little step in between. The car is 100% in its original paint, only few traces of use, and is completely rust and damage free, almost too shiny to take a decent set of photos!

Showing the car now as we picked it up last Saturday, without doing anything. With a little round of TLC the car would only become even better, if at all possible. There are enough good cars around, but this really is the best original condition I have seen in over 15 years, even better than the cars in the BMW museum. If the odometer would be at 30k it would also look and sound convincing. We originally bought the car for trade purposes, but it is that good we are now having sleepless nights, what to do. For an exceptional offer it may go, but it may very well remain in our stables.

Hand written history to accompany all the invoices and heaps of other paperwork, and a crate of parts as well.

She will be on the sharknosemeeting this year!
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Absolutely unbelievable!!!
Jeroen, if you by some miracle decide to sell it, you know you'll have a hell of a lot more sleepless nights from the moment you shake the buyer's hand. How do you even price it!? It's unsellable, unpriceable, not meant to be parted with. Keep it and enjoy!!

Tough one indeed as it is a real rare find, especially with all the history, and not a resprayed car with no history and the usual BS story with it. But the wife says I can't park it in the living room, can you believe her?! Seriously, for a good home, a collector that will appreciate the car and promises to cherish it may be able to buy it. But I've seen enough E21's over the past 20 years to know this is real rare, so it comes at a price. A price that is hard to establish indeed, so I'll enjoy the view for a little longer first!
