There are several ways of building up a 2.7 and if you've got the parts its well worth the effort as its got way more torque than a 2.5.

You can use the 2.5 head on the 525e block iirc? Best route is use the 525 crank in the 2.5 and deck the block to bring the compression back up. I'm sure the more mechanically minded guys here can point you in the right direction.

Good work so far though mate.

that e21 is looking really special.

with both a 325i engine and an eta on the floor it would be very rude not to build a cracking 2.7!

a guy on e30zone wrote a wiki on it, as theres 3 different ways of doing it....
have a read.....

the motronic 173 ecu with the alpina 2.7 chip also arrived so i will need to get it tested somehow maybe try in my mates sport if he will answer the phone one one of these nights. tried to half heatedly plug it into my wiring harness it looks like it will fit but i couldn't get it in lol any advice?

bit of an update guys got my engines hoked out and brought into the garage so im goin to start building my 2.7 get the head off the eta block and get it decked looks like my ecu wont fit because it isn't the right one so i'll be needing a 55pin plug and harness and crank position sensor from the later motronic 1.3 cars and an air flow meter as i don't have one if anybody can help me out?

I have the suspension fuel tanks and brakes all back in took my time with all the fuel and brake lines to make them tidy so i'm happy eith them just need to finish plumbing up the front brakes the original green pipes still look good the goodrige flexis are the dogs im really impressed with them. i left my wheels in with the tyre man 185/60 13 nankang rubber lol

i took a mad notion and bought an e30 325i sport silver mtec 1 i don't need it but i didn't want to pass it up even though it is smoking and missing like mad. so that is another motor to work on lol

pics to follow dudes
