I found a pic of my E21 from the Nürburgring Nordschleife, from when I was there for a couple of days in September:

Fine vinterbilder, men bilen skulle aldri ha vært ute i snøen.

Og så må du og dine danske venner registrere bilene på www.bmwe21register.com

Si i fra når dere skal ha ett vårtreff i danmark.

I like your car, but its far too nice to drive in the snow. I thought you garaged it?

What color silver did you powdercoat your rims with.
I am building a set of BBS RM rims 15 x 7.5 front, 15 x 8 rear

My 323i sits is the garage all winter....Winter here is very cold

Yep, last couple of years I garaged it, but I had to sell my E30 325i. Was moving to another city etc. so I needed the cash  .
I have now bought an E30 320i for the daily driving. Great car.

I don't know what colour silver the rims is - I chose from a palet at the powder coat company.

I dynoed the car back in 2005, with a result of 168,9hp. In the summer of 2008 it was on the dyno again with the result of 148hp, so it seems the engine is a bit worn. It has about 280.000km on it (car has 352.000km), so it is up for a bit of a restoration.

I tested the compression on all 6 cylinders this winter, and it was not too good:

I have bought a renovated cylinder head, with less than a 1.000km on it, since camshaft, levers etc. was changed It is presure tested and looks good so it shoud be worth the bucks

I am taking the car to one of Denmarks biggest meets on saturday, and that will probably be the last time it will run, before the engine is removed from the car.
Furthermore I have bought all the necessary parts for the overhauling of the engine at Schmiedmann. (Oil pump, ALL new gaskets, waterpump, timing belt, thermostate etc. etc. etc.).
Bearings, piston rings etc. will come later when I know the state of the inside of the engine.

I will keep the thread updated with the progress 8)

Finally there's an update!

So you're taking the entire engine apart? Perhaps do a leak test as well before that? Or have you already decided to rebuild the bottom end as well?

All is being rebuild and checked.
The engine will be complety disassembled, and all gaskets, bearings, oilpump, water pump, all belts, thermostat etc. etc. will be new.

I picked up some parts from our friends at Schmiedmann a couple of days ago - Bearings and piston rings will be purchased later, when I know the state of the inside of the engine.

Image

Furthermore i picked up a top dollar LSD diff with 3.45 gearing yesterday, with 116.000km on it. I bougt it from a guy who totaled his E21 in the beginning of the 90´s, and took out the most valuable parts.

It is probably the most expensive part I have ever bought for my car
