Quite true,
I actually witnessed the confusion by others first hand a few months ago.
While I was Looking at the new X3 in a local BMW branch, a senior couple were in looking to trade in and up, as they probably do every 3 years. The salesman had all the brochures out, had given them the figures, along with copious amounts of tea & tablet and just before signing he asked the question "is this the same as what I have, but newer?" Clearly confused, and not actually sure what they were even buying.
Some people may think they are getting more than they actually are, like the new Snickers and Mars Bars, its all about packaging and labels these days.
