316 lost in car accident

Post by jasperzutman »

Hello forum, First time posting for me,
Unfortunately under sad circumstances,

A good friend of mine owned a '79 316. Yesterday on the highway whilst doing 110 kph (70 mph) a tire blew off causing the 316 to hit the guardrail.
My friend and his girlfriend got out of the BMW. A few moments after that a second car hit the BMW leaving it completely wrecked.

The 316 was near mint condition. He spend a lot of time and effort on it.
I have started a crowdfunding campaign to fund a replacement. (I don't know if it will ever fill the gap of his first car being the 316)
My friend is still a student and unfortunately can't afford to just buy another one. All is money was in this 316.

Don't feel obligated to donate. But if you can please do!

It was truly an great car. It has done its final task splendidly everyone walked away from the accident with minor injuries only

Here are some pictures of the BMW (more pictures in the link)
