Or rather Murran is doing it and I am rushing around looking for bits then abandoning the job to go and deal with family etc - leaving Murran working away.

Most of the stuff I actually did on Sunday was futile - like spending a while trying to get rusted studs out of an exhaust manifold, breaking my MIG while trying to weld nuts to the studs to force them out, fixing the MIG, then Murran pointing out that it was an e30 manifold rather than the e21 two piece I need.

haha cheers lads, i'll keep that in mind, and you'll probably regret saying that with all the questions i'll ask you lol.
Unfortunately i'm doing most of the work myself, in a cold dark shed haha, so progress could be slow to say the least

Jim you can have my M20 two piece manifold and downpipes should you need them...should i be getting a fritz jobbie. Don't suppose you know if the E21 manifold they sell will fit without issue do you?

It's a bit tight but yes, it bolts straight on.

Millar, I'd get a second opinion on this one, however I was told via someone on this forum and my mechanic when it came to fitting that an E30 minifold won't fit in an E21, different angles. You'll see I bought something similar in my owners gallery page

well thanks for letting me know lad, luckily i hadn't bought one yet! i just dont want to shell out for a fritz bits one, i'm trying to do this on a budget, and a £400 manifold is half what i paid for the car and more than double what i paid for the engine!

Finally getting back round to working on this, sold the 325i conversion to fund getting it back on the road, and some other bits to make it a decent daily.
Any ways, pictures.
