hey murran way back when you converted your 320 to motronic did you have any dramas converting the head to to accept the motronic dizzy?

I've been told that the early m20 cam will not take the motronic dizzy rotor keyway as the cam ends are different.

I'm doing a 2.7 and 731 head conversion soon and its going to have the 325i motronic efi on it.

the keyway could be a stumbling block as I'd rather not rip the cam out of the outgoing 325i engine.

Varden its the E21 cams that don't have the counterbore in the cam nose. Cam be drilled to accept the motronic parts, as thats what I did to my early schrick cam.

If you have an E30 head and cam it is likely to be ok. But worth trying to fit the rotor arm parts to the cam before getting it in the car.

didnt have any dramas no. had to swap the cam pulley to the e30 one using the e30 bolt etc and change the cambelt cover too. but it all went straight on.

car passed its mot yesterday.
had to change a new handbrake cable and the o/s/f lower arm (kindly donated by drjim the other week) the arm had a ripped rubber boot on the ball joint which i swapped with a landrover track rod end boot. :)
i also got marks k-mac top mounts thru the post this week. ive cleaned them up a bit on the wire wheel at work and ive fitted them today. got a bit of camber now and seems more positive on the turn in.
i'd post pics up i but havent got and battries for the camera atm.
