theres a few companies who make the 2002 turbo flares in carbon as well. that'd look pretty good with the carbon bonnet and carbon-look mirrors.

gas strut on the boot! nice!
were you able to take out the normal workings that would hold it up, or is the strut additional to that?

well by the looks of that picture you can still see the torsion springs under the rear shelf so think it must be extra

yes, if you cut some of the back panel out and the spare wheel well out. mine is going to start at the rear subframe and angle straight back at about 7 degrees. its a lot easier when the exhaust isnt in this area (as mine pops out the side of the car before the diffuser starts)

just thought about it, the more pertenant question should be 'will you be driving your e21 fast enough to get any benefit from a diffuser?'
yes....

I only ask as I have a passing interest in aerodynamics and BMW were going to fit a diffuser to the latest M3GTS but concluded that the car just wasn't big enough to fit one that would be of any real use and that more downforce could be got from a rear spoiler instead. I think it would look trick though.

if ferrari think they're worth it and nissan put one on their gtr, i cant see why bmw would think differently? the size of the car doesnt matter anyway, you could fit one to a gokart if you wanted. id say it was probably more of a design constraint like the rear suspension or something in the way. spoilers are easier too, just tak one on and you're done!
could've also been a styling thing too, they're not the sexiest looking things..

they're also prone to hit things on road cars too, which might effect sales?
