Road trip 2010, starts 10.06 Now with some phothos

Post by Lars-Nord »

In this thread there will be updates from the trip we are going in the summer of 2010. Photos, roads, fuel consumption and other incidents on the road. The plan is to travel Thursday, app 1200, driving through Sweden and take the ferry to Poland. We have tents and sleeping bags, and do not know where we will sleep. But we are in a good mood and ready for the trip that will last for 2 weeks. Thanks to PABLO in Poznan, which has offered accommodation on the second night. Next stop will be at Mcineck, in southern Poland. We will also visit the concentration camp, Auszwitch. The road ahead goes to Munich. Prague is along the road, and must be well visited. Around Munich, we have the Eagle's Nest, and "W and N", to be visited.
The trip will be run with a 1981 model 323i, as you know. The car is completely original and has 98,000 km on the speedometer. It's changed springs and shocks, new brakes are installed, all oil and brake fluid is changed. New tires, continental precon 2, is on the car.
Updates will come ..

Rasmus:Maybe I will take the way to your place on the way home. Just a little trip to see some of the finest cars that is.

Today we wake up in wienna, and went for the eagels nest. Thats some impressing work they have done at that place. If you are affraid of hights. Thats not the place to go. I dont like it up there, but it was a litle fog, or clouds, so that we dident see out all the way up. What a nice hunting cabin that guy had.
We have been stopped by the police. They dident care so mutch for papers, but liked the car.
In wienna, in trafic jam, som young guys hang out of their window and asked what year an how many hp the car got. They loved the car and wish us good trip.
We have been to munic. The allianz arena, bmw factory/welt for two minutes. just to see. Now we are in buchelo, where they make real cars. The alpina.
Tomorrow we are taking trip to the factory and see if we can get in. Maybe we also can go to the Blaser factory, where tey makes hunting rifles. We will know to morrow. Many kilometers has passed by (3000). Average kmt is 120. and the car use under 1l per10 km. App, 4-5mm on the oilpin. Now problesm so far.

Either that, or BMW made E21s in 'King Kong' size and didn't tell anyone. Nice pictures, Lars-Nord.
