UK E21 event
I have yet to confirm all the details but I am planning a Retro German Car Show in Spring 2013 that will be held in Essex.
As well as the usual static displays and show'n'shine event, there will also be a dyno available with power-runs and print-outs.
The event will be open to BMW, VW, Porsche & Audi but with the theme being unmistakably retro. What I would really like to do though, is get as many UK e21's to attend as possible. We're lucky to get into double figures at events like Gaydon but with more UK e21's being built than in recent years, I hope we might be able to get twice or three times that number?!
I am going to see a proposed venue tomorrow and will then look at suitable dates. Entrance will be free although a small donation to a charity (still to be chosen) would be appreciated. No individual or related company will profit from this event though, as that's just not what it is about.
I know we're still a few months away but it would be good to see you guys there and any input/advice you may have would be appreciated. Hopefully a few of you Northern Monkey's will be able to find your way down into civilisation and join us?

Re: UK E21 event
Provisional date is looking like April 28th 2013.
Nas - do you want us to ask Jamie to show you what to do?
I am just working on the details but the day itself will be free!
Just so no-one gets any ideas that anyone is trying to profit from this, I will be asking for £1 donation from anyone planning to attend, but this will be by secure online donation via Virgin Giving, so that everyone can be sure that only the charity will benefit.
There will be no drum'n'bass DJ's, no jailbait ''pit girls'' and competition winners will be voted upon by ALL attending.
Anyway, hopefully the details will be ironed out shortly and the date confirmed.
We will also endeavour to make whippets, flat caps & ''bread and dripping'' available to northern folk.

Re: UK E21 event
This could be the start of something great, everybody, but already there seems to be an inkling of pesimism.
The reason Sharknose is so well attended is that people make the effort to drive many miles to attend, for the love of it.
People turn up in minters and mingers, also, for the love of it.
When a bunch of us met up for the Performance Car mag photo shoot a couple of years ago,i thought,"here we go,its taking off".It didn't.
Thats because we weren't making the effort as a collective.
There are enough E21's in the South East alone to make this a good day out.
Maybe a few guys from farther afield will make the trip.Lets hope so.Essex is only a hop skip and a jump from Harwich or Dover.
The Midlands is only a couple of hours away and the M25 makes it easier to skirt London from any of the Home Counties.
I,for one, will be there. The chances are MIB 2 will be there. That probably means the Media will be there, too.Knowing Mark as i do.
Don't miss out on what promises to be a brilliant day out.Asking for pics to be posted is never as good as being there.
The gaunlet has been thrown.Who's going to pick it up?
