Re: Orjans 1979 323i (new pics page 4)
Confession time; I have used the car way too little this summer, so I put it for sale a couple of months ago... I had a asking price of €15000 to make sure I'd only get serious enquries, and I did indeed get a buyer. He did however insist on a technical check and report to get the finances in order. At this time I hadn't driven the car for a couple of months, and as I started it up to drive to the testing facility, I immediatly realized that it would be the biggest mistake of my life to sell this car... The glorious sound and the pure, mechanical driving feeling is unbeatable!
So I had to call the buyer and tell him that I wouldn't sell anyway. He got a bit disappointed (understandably), but he told me that he sold his 1981 Porsche 911 a couple of years ago and had regretted that sale every day since, so he could understand me.
Anyways; the car stays with me, and I've told my wife and my friends to hit me hard on the head if I ever put it up for sale again

Good. I like.
Bare det å vite at den står der og du kan ta den ut når du føler for det. Om den så står i 5 år, så har du muligheten som mange andre ikke har. Ta vare på den du Ørjan.

Well finally the car is ready for a new season; one of the front brakes was stuck, so a set of overhauled calipers were ordered and fitted yesterday - good to be back on the road

What a beautiful car!!!! I'm no particular fan of Alpina spoilers on a "standard factory car", but it looks good! Is it Kastanien Rot, like mine?

Re: Orjans 1979 323i (new pics and a story page 5)
Time for an update I guess
Have used the car quite a lot this summer - and had one long and nice drive to the BMWCarClubNorway meeting i Lillehammer;
this pic is from Hjerkinn - 1000m above sea level
In Lillehammer I met LarsNord and his immaculate 323
..and 2 other sweet E21s
I also got 2 trophies; Long Distance (obviously, with 750kms one way) but also the "Best Classic Car", which is kind of unbelivable considering the standard of the other cars..
Like this beautiful NK
..and this stunning CS
and a lot of others...
Anyway; the car has been a pure joy, and it works pretty good. I have however discovered a few small rust spots, so I have to take care of them before next season. I have toyed with the idea of going to Sharknose Meeting 2014, so hopefully that works out for me
