I will present you a project my mechanic is doing.

Original car is '83 323i and body kit is bought from PESCH Motorsport from Czech Republic.

Chasy is rust free and some rims are nearby (5x120 ofcourse)... yes it will fit :D

Bodykit is for racing use, it is pretty good quality and it does not need lots of work to be fitted as it should be.

Panels are fitted, left one was piese of cake, right one required some aditional work.and then C pillar.

so it looks like a car allready.

OMP rollcage was bought and Z3 trailing arms aswell (which were abandoned) and bought brakes and hubs of a E46 328i.
E46 hubs were fitted to a E30 trailing arms, e30 handbrake system is is no more because of hydro handbrake. Caliper is almost plug and play. Carrier has to be grinded off 3mm to sit deeper and one adittional bolt has to be fitted.
This hub combination gives us a narrower track on rear wheels about 9mm on each side so wider rim can be fitted and with lower offset.

Front axle wil remain E30 but with E36 hubs and E34 V8 calipers with unknown disc for now.
8.5x17 et15 with 205/40 will be mint combination...

Lots of work has not been pictured and is not visible from present pictures...

Engine is M20B28 stroker with M52B28 crank and to me unknown pistons and rods,
It is revving like a chainsaw.... :screwy
Tomorrow I will post progress update.

At this moment, car has engine in it and it is painted.
I will take some fresh photos and videos next week when I get there to inspect the work :boogie

Looks great, sounds like an awesome project but with the shape that it started in, why not just buy a fully built M3? Can't be that much less expensive especially if you are going with an S14.

car was original with m20 engine so it will be no legal obstacles to have it on the road with licence plates and m20b28 engine

s14 is pretty rare where we live and m20 was left from one of the earlier projects...

Ah, didn't take the legal/regulatory aspect into consideration. But that sounds great, looks fantastic for being a budget build, would never be able to tell. Any engine plans to bring it more so up to par with a real M3?

Engine is early hi comp M20B25.
it is not B25 anymore but B28 due to M54B28 crankshaft machined to fit M20 block with machined pistons, 288º catcams camshaft, ported head and M50 ECU.
internals are lightweighted and balanced

Diff (3.91) is modified to accept more friction plates and locking is increased to >50%

Front brakes are from E34 V8 (big brake kit :popcorn ) rear brakes are also upgraded...

car is set on K-sport coilovers all around
eibach sway bars front and rear with PU bushings
rear trailing arms are E39 ones with eccentric bolts for adjusting camber and toe
