On the other hand... I'm not planning to convert to Alpha-N and somehow for a Q car like the 320iS fourdoor I think that's too much anyway.
But I finally found a trustworthy guy that could offer me a cf airbox that was exactly the shape of the original accumulator so that should be a straight swap. 99% straight swap as the hole for the intake trumpets was slighty too wide so I chose to replace the original o-ring by a thin layer of rubber sealant.
Test driving...
At startup... quiet
During warmup at low revs... just a slight, decent and remote noise
Low revs but stepping on the accelerator a bit more... a nice and still decent noise up to abt 4500 rpm
Above 4500 rpm there's the noise we want. For people watching in the street it's pretty impressive. Inside you hear somewhat of a DTM noise
but still not that loud and definitely not as loud as the more open systems fitted on Alpha-N equipped cars. For me this is all I wanted, just the right amount of noise! No soundfile, maybe later.But here's some pics...
