Some small updates...
I removed and stripped the original 13" Mahle wheels so that I can refurbish them myself. A combination chemical dipping/stripping, soda-blasting, filing and sanding.. And a whole lot of polishing!
But to get the wheels offI needed a set of spares (thanks Paul) so a set of E30 Bottle Caps later I was almost ready to go, realising the offset was incorrect I picked up a set of these spacers:
Which seemed a really good fit:
So I'm able to drive now without any issues with the tie rod ends catching etc.
And then next week I'll be moving on to this!!:
I've been introduced to a local guy (two roads away!) who used to race E21's and now runs a garage from home. So he's on clutch duty
Final update is this, a small but interesting thing (for me at least) as now in the UK the tax disk doesn't need to be displayed, hence:
