Post by croma_man »

Problem : they stopped to sell this in our Country (health something regulations)...

I need 6 x 1L of this item, can then send GLS to pick it up. Not one shop wants to send it to Slovenia.

This is the best paint stripper in the world, goes through 2-3 layers of paint almost instant.

If someone is willing to help, please. Money can be sent on the bank account or paypal.

When i look at the link you give there is a pointer at this article that it is no longer available.

Looked at other stores but this is not possible anymore. So even in Holland it is not possible anymore. Sorry.

So thats why I can't get it, thanks for the info.

Is there any substitute for this item on the market? Everything I tried was horrid.

Product is discontinued for environmental reasons indeed. I found a shop stating that that eliminated all perfectly good paint removers. The environmentally friendly alternatives usually do a horrible job, only one they found that was reasonable (but not as good as Vervex) is the Vistapaint.nl Paint remover (afbijtmiddel in Dutch). Vistapaint is part of the same mother company (Akzonobel) as Sikkens.

Link for the new product: http://www.vistapaint.fr/index.php/le-f ... g-decapant
(sadly only available in Dutch and French language but perhaps there is another supplier as well, perhaps you can email them at info@vistapaint.nl for international suppliers?)

Thanks Jeroen, I changed the topic name, perhaps someone can share some good experiences with another product.

Going to buy one sample from the vistapaint.

Here is another product which I'm currently using, but takes 15-20 minutes to work, for comparision, the Sikkens did it's job in 1-2 minutes.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Based on the state of the paint on my car (slug) when I pressure bled the brakes and the master cylinder lid blew off hosing it with fluid, I'd say the most effective paint stripper in the world is brake fluid.

I tried brake fluid to strip the paint off a wing panel on Arshads e3. left it all weekend and it did nothing, I think the car has been painted in the 60's it must have some lead in the paint.

The only effective way I have found to get paint off is with soda blasting. it makes a right mess though.

going to find a sample of it, this shop is out of stock.

Price for 1L is over the roof (4x more than other paint strippers).

Some times you get what you pay for....
Have a look at a product called Ardrox® 2526

we use a lot of the de-greasers at work especially before FPI and NDT ops.
They are quite good.

for sale here:
http://www.silmid.com/products/ardrox-2 ... -25lt.aspx

other options:
http://www.chemetall.com/Special/Produc ... rs/all/all

if you are stripping wheels ever looked at plastic media blasting?? it wont touch any polished surfaces but strip all paint if you pick the right grade.
