15x7 Tyre recommendation's and sense check

HI All,

I've managed to purchase an original set of BBS RA 15x7 rims for my 323i. I understand the optimum tyres for this are 195/50 front and 205/50 rear to avoid fouling any steering components.

Will these tyres fit on 7j wide rims?

My reason for asking is I have found Toyo Proxes TR1's in the correct sizes, but on their site they state the recommended rim width as 6 and 6.5.
https://www.toyo.co.uk/tire/pattern/proxes-tr1

I wanted to check if these tyre sizes are suitable for the rims I have.

And any other tyre recommendations for these sizes would be welcome!

Thanks,

Kam

Works fine, no problem at all! My preferred tyre that is also available in both sizes is Hankooks Ventus Prime3 K125, works really well dry and wet and also when you're stepping on it. And I heard a rumor some time ago already that Toyo was phasing out the TR1's in 205 wide?

Thanks Jeroen (again!). I did see the Hankooks but wasn't sure how good they were, but if you speak from experience, I may check those out instead.

TR1's seem available here in the UK in 205 for now, let's see for how long.

Several E21 323i drivers using this model Hankooks here, I've had them on my Baur since 2018 ad I just ordered a new set.

From my side a big +1 for the Hankooks. Compared to different other tires I am really satisfied with them. Cornering they make a lot of noise and more noise means more grip, it seems.

Thanks Wilmo, I might give them a try instead of the Toyo's.

Cheers,
