[320/6 - 325i Alpina Replica 1981]Tomba from the Netherlands

Post by Tomba »

Hello Fanatics,

I'm Tom(ba) from the Netherlands and never introduced myself. So got some spare time to do that :). Some members may know me (Jeroen, Arnold,...) , my dad owns a garage (A.J.Karreman & Zn, Andijk) and I thought some one from here went by to get some parts (forgot the name!).

Got an E21 320/6 from 1981 that I have "converted" into everything.... 323i rear axle (brake discs) E34 M20B25 engine...

Image

Last summer I had the possibility to buy an E21 Alpina interior thats in the car right now. Year before I added the lovely Alpina striping (incl. original front spoiler). Shall make some pics of the interior and engine bay tomorrow.

Image

Here together with another 323i and my "daily driver" 1502. The 1502 got 2002 tii engine with E30 318i intake manifold and MegaSquirt ECU. The E21 has a KMS engine management (MD35) and wideband controller (rpm vs p), 288 CatCams camshaft, adjustable camgear, ported and polished (brand new) head, "spaghetti" exhaust and costum made exhaust... (Hit 231km/h GPS on German Autobahn, feld I was starting to fly into the sky)

With the 288 degree camshaft the engine goes crazy up to 4000/4500 rpm. Unfortunatly I miss the torque in the lover revs, but you have to make descissions right?

Image

I've just graduated a year from the HTS in Arnhem (Automotive Engineering School) and got the Engineering title -> Ing. Tomba :D. Electronics and engines are my life, thats the reason behind free programmable engine managements that I got. Got myself a job @ a turbo manufracturer, so next thing is to boost my baby up :D

Some other pics.....

Dads M5 (engine is out for revision) and friends Alpina B10 Biturbo 8)

Hope to get some pics tomorrow...!

Ciao, good evening!

Wow!
Lovely car, the blue Alpina striping on the white paint is simply amazing and very unique! A beauty to look at really!

Thanks for all your replies!

@ Wondermike, I must be you, hows the project going? (links or pictures?)
@ ac/Dennis, I spend more time in cleaning it than driving it. The car really needs to be polished again. the "problem" with white car you have to keep it up.

As promised I took some pictures of the engine bay and interior. Also recorded a video (starting in 2nd gear due to the rain).

Enjoy!

oil pressure sender unit is normally connected on a T-piece on the block where the oil pressure switch is, the oil temperature could be on the same place but with VDO sensors you can get hold of one that is actually the oil sump plug which i have but not yet fitted... this sender was ordered from america and is hard to find.. no one in europe has them VDO america supplies only.

Yes it is. The 2002 is also on stand alone engine management (no contact points anymore 8) ).

Below the oil filter (like Alpina mentioned) together with the temperature sensor. Which I will fit into the sump for better sensing.
