I've never been that happy with the PAS pump in my 323i, it's a bit noisy and has some lateral movement in the shaft. New/recon ones are eye wateringly expensive.
Does anyone have experience of fitting an e30 pump, is it possible, alternatively is there a reconditioner that doesn't take payment in the form of kidneys?
PAS Pump Options?
Re: PAS Pump Options?
And the answer was AutoDoc. In fact they were the only place that could do a recon pump, price was pretty good although the 2 weeks for delivery and poor customer service were a bit of a let down. Lets see how it works when I get the car running again in the next few days?

I've heard of fitting a filter to the PAS system, does anyone have experience of these, where does it go, which one to buy?

There's one at the bottom of the ATK tank, underneath the metal bottom you see with an empty tank

Availability is a problem with those filters. Last batch we ordered after market in the USA.
