Thanks all. I took the car to RE Performance last weekend for a tune up on their rolling road. http://www.re-performancecentre.co.uk/index.html - The guy who owns the place specialises in Weber tuning so knew what he was doing. There was some crap stuck in the idle jet which he identified and also a problem with the second choke not opening properly. Both fixed.

The car runs REALLY well now - so much power, even just for a 1.8! The M10 revs up *really* quickly. The sound of that second choke opening is addictive but I need to have a light foot for the first thousand miles... I'll take it back to the rolling road then for a top end run and post the printout.

Today I;

- Reconnected my brake pedal switch as I noticed I had no brake lights! Eek!
- Wired in a new bluetooth stereo (Kenwood KDCBT60U) and microphone.
- New speakers front and back.

I'll try to grab some pictures tomorrow.

Stereo installed. It has a useful feature where you can change the colour of the backlight and the buttons independently so I've managed to match it to the E21 amber/red dash lights. Looks pretty good at night;

And the 'stealth' bluetooth mic install just off the steering wheel;

What Nas said. Ran a new wire with inline fuse to the terminal. I use a battery cut off switch as added theft protection and was fed up of losing all my stereo/bluetooth settings every time I used it.

Thanks, rear are ET0 and front are ET20 so will need a pair of 8mm hubcentric spacers. Rubber will be 195/45/15 Toyo Proxes!

What's the ideal width for an 8 inch rim? 215?

a 194/45 on a 8" rim is fine - I have proven this in a court of law - and I was not guilty of violating any construction / use law.

195/45/15 is the only size that actually will allow you to clear the front bib on an 8.
