Tomorrow I will attempt to modify the manifold, and start plumbing the engine in - so far baring some school boy errors I made (not fitting the slave cylinder before the engine and box went in) and having a few issues with the gearbox mount (thanks again nas for your guidance) it has been pretty straight forward

Ah nice pics!!! All and shiny!

But where did you find those plastic mudflaps on the inside of the front wing? Look like new!

Thanks! It is getting there slowly. The plastic guards are the original ones, I washed them in hot soapy water first then used a panel wipe on them. Any hard to clean areas I sanded back with a really fine sand paper and then used a polishing mop to bring the shine back, bit of a faf but they came out ok.

Had a go at modifying the manifold today, we cut the front manifold off and added a 190mm straight section in. Cleaned up the welds and painted with exhaust paint (not expecting that to last) seems to sit quite well, with plenty of space around the steering shaft

Over the last few days I have managed to plumb most of the engine in, just waiting on some new inlet hoses to arrive and the petrol tanks to return from the powder coaters and it should be ready to fire up for the first time (had it cranking over to get oil pressure). Again, this would not of been possible without the support and knowledge of nas and mcjordan. I promise I'll stop bombarding you both with question's soon ;)

Looks really nice - very clean 8)

Can I ask what you used for the fuel pump? Did you use a in-line or in tank pump? I'm trying to get a inline pump working but its not!! Not sure if its my calculation, or ebay selling crap as gold :hammer

Thanks Steve, it is staring to come together now. I used a e30 318is in tank pump. How far along are you with yours?

Looking very good!

I've reached a similar point, how did you wire up the fuel pump?
I'm using the same pump and I'm thinking you've to run an extra pos and neg to it?
But where do you take the power from?

Cheers Joe,

Exciting times mate! Yours has moved along at quite a pace! I'm guessing you'll be back on the road reasonably soon? I haven't wired up mine yet, it's a job to try and get done this weekend (hopefully) after talking with mcjordan, I believe there is already a lead in the loom by the tanks that could be used. I am having to rely on some friends with a bit more knowledge on the matter to help me out on this. I can turn spanners and lug stuff about but then I quickly run out talent lol
