E12 tidy up.
been collecting some bits over the winter for the E12,
Now the spring clean has been done in the garage, and i just have a few trps to the scrappy and dump, time to get started on the cars.
started working on the new wheels.
bbs rc 090, 8" and 9" barrels both centers are stamped RC 090
soaked with wd40 & started stripping them
heat
light tap with hammer shaft, some didnt even need that
then heat again and pop the bolts out
then cleaned, blasted, painted barrels matt black 2 pack epoxy, centers are still white 2k epoxy primer to be flattened and coloured white with laquer polished on the lathe a bit with scotchbrite and autosol
bolts and nuts done in matt black epoxy.

Re: E12 tidy up.
there is no need to heat the bolts and nuts on the RC wheels, I split 40-50 of this RC wheels, not even one bolt broke.
for polishing, try Belgom Alu.

Re: E12 tidy up.
I heated the alloy lightly just incase, there was a bit of corrosion on the nut seating face flange so skimmed 40thou off to clean it up.
Thats an excellent finish croma_man
I only had 1/2 hour each wheel on the lathe, there is still some slight pitting so really need some more time with wet dry 800 up to 2500g if i can get it.
but probably wont bother. Autosol does say its no good for mirror finishes will try the stuff you recommend
