Big box arrived yesterday.

Shiny shiny! :crazy

Image

The quality of this kit is awesome. I know that Jenvey make absolutely everything ''in house'' and cast their own manifolds etc, and the finish is superb. Excuse the phone pics as I don't think they do justice.

Just sat on top of the OE system, to get an idea of how it'll look. There certainly aren't any obvious clearance issues and hopefully we can run some longer velocity stacks once installed?

Image

The kit comes complete with a linkage kit and cable

Will be running DTA standalone management.

Initially, will be running the M50 inlet and single TB, doing some dyno runs and then installing the Jenvey kit, to measure gains. :thumbsup

Unfortunately, we're still a way off that happening. As with all custom fabrication, it takes time and things have slowed down again. I have no doubt it will be well worth the wait, but with the house move etc, I have an awful lot going on right now. I am also going to be out of the UK for a large part of next month. I just want to get it back in one piece and along to some shows this Summer though.

Opted to ditch the OE wheel bolts and have ordered a stud conversion kit and open ended wheel nuts. It just makes swapping rims a little easier for me and I don't have to mess around lining up the spacers. The dynamat that Jamie recommended is really good and pretty competitively priced, especially compared to some products out there.

There's not really a lot more to add right now. I'm just trying to keep focussed on how it will be once finally done. It's not always that easy though. That said, it's hardly life or death stuff is it.

Been a bit hectic over the past couple of months and was fortunate enough to spend a few weeks in Barbados. I tried to catch up with my old ex Khumo track car, which now lives on there as a classic rally car, but couldn't agree suitable time. I did spot a couple of e30's out there though. Once home again, we moved down to Cornwall and am finally getting organised.....sort of.

Anyway, MIB is still coming along slowly but should be going to the trimmer soon for new carpets. The auxiliary gauges are in now and I'm really pleased with how they fit and look. The panel came from Germany (thanks Gunther)

Image

I'm really looking forward to finally getting MIB finished but have been a bit distracted with the e30. I fitted the single wiper today, along with some Schnitzer mirrors. I'd hoped to be able to take the e21 to Retro Rides this year, but might have to be the e30 after all.

Forgot to mention we finally have the battery mount in the boot and cables run for power and earth. The battery tray also doubles up as a rear brace between the suspension turrets, although I'm not sure how much of an effect it'll have? Nil I imagine. :)

Image

Once the engine is running and we put a few miles on the new cams, it'll be getting the ITB kit fitted, so for now I just went with the M50 inlet and a decent quality cone filter. I still need to make a heat shield up though. The rad mount has been dropped slightly and I deleted the expansion tank as thanks to the waterless coolant, it'll no longer be a pressurised cooling system.

Whilst I was at it, I slotted in an alloy rad for the M3 too.

I like the german precision alignment of the bolts for the aux gauge plate.

The e30m3 is also wonderful !

fantastic car in the making (as always) I suspect the the change/move has been more significant than you expected!

love the gauge pack
Volts 12 - imperial?
Oil press 40-60 PSI = imperial

but what is this temp in C = metric!

Herman has Switz gauges all in metric - which I do not understand !
bar anyone?? - clue not a place to get a double scotch

I lived here till late '04 anyway, when I was in a near fatal car crash near Camborne on the A30. Had it not been for the Cornwall Air Ambulance I simply would never have survived, but fortunately they had a doctor on board who was able to stem the blood flow from a severed blood vessel in my groin. Not to mention the passersby who had pulled me from the burning wreckage. It is for that reason I try and raise a few quid whenever I can, to donate to the CAA trust.

Fortunately I remember nothing of the accident itself but it just goes to show how quickly ones life can change.

Image

I didn't notice the gauges, although if I recall correctly, Centigrade and Celsius are both the same anyway. These are actually the cheaper range of Stack gauges but the quality is still excellent. They were also supplied with the relevant sensor / sender unit and the oil pressure gauge included all the fittings and a decent length of oil pipe.

Have decided to definitely do the Rota alloys in gold. I've seen a couple of other e21/e30 with them so it'll be good to make them a little different. It was Magnus Walkers blue 911 that sort of convinced me. I know an e21 is no 911, but it's the same rake and staggered rim look I'm aiming for with MIB.

Did you build the battery mount/strut brace yourself?

Do the bottom foot plates actually attach to the diff mount at all?
