Image Wheels - what offset?

Post by dw320 »

Hi,

I have had my e21 for a couple of weeks now, its a polaris silver 320/6. Its about time that I get some new wheels and get it a tad lower.

Its my first E21 and not too sure on what the best offset is, also i need to choose the wheels. I have got a shortlist, so any views on the best ones? I am going to get them in 15", just not sure on the offset and width.

If anyone can help it would be great!

Cheers

ET 13 with 15Jx7's. Are you going for 1 piece or modular?

Thanks mate. Going for 3 piece wheel, maybe with the gold centre.

Any particular ones in mind?

I've just bought some 3 piece rims myself. I cannot believe just how light they are. I've been lucky with the offset too as they're spot on at ET12.

i am partial to the last 2. the first dont 'fit' , imo
the correct offset is , ironically, E-12. my rims have that stamped on them and for the longest time i thought it meant they were from an e-12. but a buddy of mine who does tires for a living corrected me and said thats the offset

It's great when things work out like that by fluke. I bought my 3 piece one's thinking I'd have to run spacers so was well pleased when Jason told me that should be just about perfect as they are! 8)

I have placed the order. Would have loved the bottom set, but the ££ was a tad tight. I have gone for the 3rd ones down, pretty original but should look pretty good when the car is lowered. Im not sure on what suspension setup to get though.

May just get some springs... what are the best ones to get? Needs a healthy drop.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Anything that resembles BBS looks good on an e21 imo. I think all but the 4 spokes would work although 4 spoke Revolutions look great on an 02.

If you can afford to go for the GAZ coilovers you can play with the ride height but if funds are tight you could go for shocks & springs from SPAX possibly?
