Ramshackle Rally 2010

My mate did the ramshackle rally recently and wants me to post it up on various forums, so here you go! Take a look at his vid...

Hi Guys,

First time poster, so be gentle.

Myself and 3 of my friends drove from Calais to Croatia in 4 days in a car that was worth £127. It was an organised event; The Ramshackle Rally, and it was 4 days of mayhem in the most bodged up, crazy looking cars, all of which barely making the finish line (one team terminally broke down on the M4!)

We made a video which I'm really keen to share with the motor enthusiast groups in order to gain thoughts on these kind of events.

Looks like a lot of fun.

Did a similar thing back in 1991 when I drove a 1962 Zephyr 6 across Europe and ended up on the Costa Brava for 6 months.

Did a very similar thing in 2006.

One of my friends set up the student gumball rally which later became student breakaways.

As a team of 4 we took a caterham 7, and a fully track prepared mk2 golf gti, caged and all. We kind of ignored the £1000 car limit a little.
Dover to Croatia, and back via italy.

A truly ridiculous amount of fun. Everyone should do something like this.

Myself & 3 mates are doing "Bangers to Barcelona" in May 2011. Currently looking for a suitable banger for @ £200. We are expecting to have a great time pushing our race car (in the loosest possible terms" up hills & mountains!!
