Calipers question
Found+bought some Brembo Alfa GTV calipers for ventilated front
Been told they are the same as 323i, only they are made of alloy(?) so much much lighter.
Also been told that in order to be fitted on my 316 for a brake upgrade, I only need to purchase the 323i ventilated front discs.
I would be interested in a conversion into ventilated front but using these calipers, if possible.
However, my mechanic tried to fit them and they won't fit, as he said... he says we will need to find the front struts from 323i
Is there a possibility that the 316 E21 BMWs that were sold in the UK had some difference in front brakes? (AFAIK, in general the 316 were 1.8-MINE IS A 1.6, 1573cc M10) ??

Re: Calipers question
It sounds like you do not have the right calipers they should look the exact same as the e21 ones

Re: Calipers question
Maybe my question was not written right:
1)Should 323i ventilated front calipers+disks fit EXACTLY on 316 struts? (combined with 323 ventilated disks of course) or are there any other modifications needed?
If the answer to question no1 is yes, then: 2) Are front struts-non vented brakes etc. of 316 1.6 EXACTLY the same as the ones of 316 1.8? Or are they a bit different?

I took the corner at high speed, came in the ditch, drove straight through a garden, flipped over 4 times and then I lost control of my steering-wheel!

Re: Calipers question
No, I think I have the e21 ones.
So this means that in order to fit them I just have to buy hte 323 vented disks and they will fit straight on the 316 brake system WITHOUT A N Y FURTHER MODIFICATION REQUIREMENTS???
