THROTTLE BODY 48mm (Sport Evolution)

Post by Pedro///Menezes »

Hi everyone!

I have a 320is E30 as some of you might know, and now a friend of mine, upgraded the intake system of his Sport Evolution M3 E30, and he is willing to sell the throttle bodys 48mm. I'm also buying the lower air filter box, but that i saw in the Jeoren's 320is site that it does improve airflow.

He told me the throttle bodys fit in the 320is engine. My questions are:

-They really fit?

-Will I need to change more things to fit it?

-Will I make any difference in the 320is engine.

Thanks in advance.

Well I've been told the 46mm TB's work fine even for 2.3's with up to abt 220HP. So if your car is pretty much stock I don't think much will change.

Because of improved flow by TB's and lower airbox (if you also fit the other intake through the cars' front) there might be a marginal improvement in mid range torque but I doubt if you will be able to feel it.

These TB's do fit but at least you have to fit the larger intake gaskets.. and then you might find the intake ports are the next obstacle for more air flow.

So... change... I doubt it! Unless you're planning some serious engine upgrades in the near future I guess it's a waste of money.

I agree with jeroen, in point of fact to really increase airflow is necessary to work the head ports, machining the intake ports to have a diameter really close to the intake valve.
