My 320/6 rolled into the workshop today..........

Post by redline »

lots of work to be done. the engine will be dropped and rebuilt. I have already bought 80% of the parts required. Balance is on order from BMW Germany throught the local dealership and awaiting arrival. The engine is "virgin" never be opened before. I am wonder what to expect when the workshop opens it on Monday............... The service manager and supercisor says that there should be no suprises and i trust that they are right!!! Interestinly the foreman insist to rebuilt the Solex 4A1 instead of using the Weber which i installed some 2 months ago. I really don't mine as then I can keep the idle at 850rpm, use the guitar air cleaner and best of all to be abe to use back my Hartge strut bar!!!!!!!!!

While the car is engineless i will also be sent to the bodyshop of some minor touchups, engine bay to be resprayed (currently on original factory paint from 1982). The workshop managed to get the Cooper running at least while I rebuit 320/6 (aka Elisabeth by those who know her).

While the car hoisted i will take a look underside and see whatelse I want to do.
