Got another spare e30 box but think an upgrade would be sensible.
We've got a 328 tourer in the garden supplying the box, same as 3.0 M3.
High miles. It it was quiet and mostly motorway, we've owned the car for 10 years so know the history.

I replaced leaking fuel hose between fuel pump and fuel filter...

£1 for the hose and 15litres of fuel until I realised wtf is going on...

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Took her in for an MOT today. Learnt my lesson to do it a few weeks early so I don't end up on buses/trams for weeks!

Failed, but only on two minor things. Track rod ends have excessive play and there's a hole in the downpipe. Already have two new full track rod assemblies which I scored off ebay a few weeks ago for 15 quid a side, and a spare downpipe courtesy of Mr Edd. I'll get those fitted this weekend and will then be riding on a fresh ticket!

Back from a small road trip (tried to copy your trips in the Alps Jeroen, but in a rather simplified, and certainly more humble way), in mountain roads of central Peloponnese, Arcadia mainly.
With a friend who drives a Mini One (so we managed to keep it a BMW family business).

Some highlights:

·Will definitely do this again, soon, and planned in more detail.

·My E21 has become a very pleasant car on the open road, much better than it used to be, so the mods up to now are ok. When asked to go fast, it could do with some more power, however, it is incredibly better than with the solex carb! And anyway, a modern successor as is the Mini One, would lose me only on the uphills. But it becomes thirsty as well! When driven softly and with low speeds, it is very very reasonable in terms of consumption!

·On wet road surfaces it needs additional attention than before, oversteering comes easily!! I have a suspicion that this is partly due to the strut bar.

·I still have issues with cold wet start in the morning, as I had with the solex...

Hope to post soon pics from the trip!!

MOT passed btw, never updated that post. This weekend I took off the old rubber boot seal, removed the rust, repainted and just waiting for a dry day now to fit the new seal!

Fitted that boot seal. Now I have a dry place to store spares haha!

Also flushed cooling system and rad this weekend with some rad flush. Cleaner than I expected actually, hardly any crap came out! I replaced the water pump as it looked like the original factory unit, but there was no damage/corrosion to the impellers so it felt like a waste of time. Still, it's peace of mind. Also gave me an opportunity to make sure I have the correct amount of antifreeze for winter!

Also replaced a blown headlight bulb and dodgy hazard switch. Next week a proper wash and wax is on the cards before the gritters get out on the roads..

I cleared space in my Dad's garage and parked the Baur in it. HAs some condensation in still which I will dry out with a fan heater on Thursday. It's been sat there for long enough for the battery to go flat, so I'll need the charger as well so I can take it out for a drive.

Tried to sort a few things out - windscreen washers, disappearing coolant and non-working cold start relay. Failed to fix anything! Got very depressed as appear to have blown head gasket, dodgy washer bottle and not enough money to fix anything! Mechanic has offered to make a list and let me see what I can do first. Got to get it there tomorrow.

Bweh those are not the things we want to hear. Hope it's not a blown head gasket but a small leak in a hose or something, saves a lot of $$$$. Good luck and keep us posted!
