Brake fluid

Post by Irish_chris »

Tried a search but nothing definitive

Am I ok to use dot 4 brake fluid in my 81 316, currently it's full of red brake fluid but that's not the colour in the bottle I bought so will be flushing it

Thanks

Red brake fluid could be anything, for example redline. But if you're not sure better replace. DOT4 is standard spec, should be ok, at least then you know for sure what's inside.

Dot 4 will make a big difference on track day/hard use will reduce brake fade a lot
