Dismantling Headlights
I want to get the inners resilvered, as one of mine is pretty bad, how do you get the units apart?
I couldn't get the adjuster screws out of the little tabs that secure them to the lens.
Anyone able to shed any light on how they're supposed to come apart?

You'll need to soak any threads with duck oil or similar. I just did the same job and its a right royal PITA! You just need to break the whole set-up down into its component parts but when they've been sat rusting for 25 years, it ain't so easy.

Re: Dismantling Headlights
The threads are all in good enough condition, I just don't know how to get the retaining screws out of the little tabs that hold them in?
They look like they should pop out or something, but they certainly don't, not without bending and possibly breaking one of the tabs.

Re: Dismantling Headlights
Well they should, just normal screws. Perhaps you can use a vice to hold one of the tabs, and use oil indeed.

Re: Dismantling Headlights
I'll have another go then.
I wasn't being too forceful because I wasn't sure if what I was doing was right.
Cheers
