Propshaft query...

Post by welshy255 »

Afternoon all,

Just a bit of newbie advice required if possible!
the centre bearing rubber has worn causing play in the prop. Ive released the front end of the prop but not the back as i wanted to try and split the prop with the back still in situ, is this possible? theirs a nut in the centre of the front side pivot point but its proving a complete bast to get off!
i can then swap the centre bearing and rubbers, and hopefully get up and running asap!!

any other ideas, suggestions or best practices id really appreciate the advice.

She an 82 323 by the way, Cheers in advance

Ash

Take it off cos it's way way easier in a vice.

Second that! Isn't the work to drop it entirely!

And mark the two halfs (either side of the bearing) so they line up exactly the same towards each other after fitting the new bearing or you'll end up having to remove it again and have it balanced again.
