E21's at Cadwell park

Post by drjim »

Just got back from the BMW Car club trackday at Cadwell. Great day with some rain, greasy track in the morning, sunshine in the afternoon and a few minor showers towards the end of the day to separate the men from the boys. I'll post up some pics of my car when they are uploaded by the photographer. What I have now are the pictures of the OTHER E21 that was there. It has a 4.4 V8 under the bonnet, sorry no pics of that as I didn't have my phone with me when I saw under there. Sadly it had a misfire/cutting out when driving problem, so didn't get out on track properly. Hopefully it'll be sorted and seen out and about in the future. Body/wheels look great. Also has floor mounted pedal box which looks a lot easier to fettle than the topmount I have. Had to replace the throttle cable today after it snapped during warm up laps, floor mounted box would have saved me the stiff neck from trying to get under the steering column!

Pics...

Floor mounted pedal box! so glad someone attempted it before I wasted cash to find it still didn't solve the fact the pedals are still too far forwards though :( looks like reverse mounted masters on a floor mount look like the way to go tbh hopefully ill get to meet the guy myself oneday. that e21 is awesome shame he had running problems he would have been handing peoples arses to them all day..

He has a modified tunnel for the V8 and the footwell looks modded. Didn't get his number but he's on ebay and you could get hold of him via there to ask questions.

That's a stunning looking car. FWIW TomC had fitted a reverse floor mounted pedal box on his E21 track car and didn't rate it, it was flimsy apparently. I think it was OBP.
