Every year the German M1 club, btw having members throughout Europe, plan a weekend out with their members. This year The Netherlands was the destination. With a little detour to the Belgian Zolder track they visited Den Haag, Scheveningen at the coast, en did a track day at the former F1 track Circuit Zandvoort. Yes, the track where we used to see Senna, Lauda, Prost and the likes win their Grands Prix. Also the track where I saw Jochen Neerpasch back in the days of the Brabham BMW F1 Team, being the basis for the World Championship titles for Nelson Piquet.
I was really surprised and happy to meet up with the M1 club's guest of honor, yes indeed, Jochen Neerpasch. And to be honest I was also surprised to see one of the M1 owners bring his beautiful daughter and she didn't mind taking her 635CSi out on a wet track, alone, before taking place behind the wheel of daddy's M1! A wonderful day full of surprises more than making up for the weather conditions.
