Oldtimer Grand Prix (OGP) Nürburgring 2017

Post by Jeroen »

Full report is behind on schedule, but let me start the topic to remind myself  with this (already shared with you previously)

We all know that shot of the flying orange Jägermeister Group 5 car on the Ring back in 1977, that was with Harald Grohs behind the wheel (there are also shots of Hans Stück in the sister car but he didn't fly as high as Grohs did). I took a print of that flying shot with me to the OGP, I knew Grohs would be racing there and I wanted to meet up for a picture and an autograph. We did not only manage that, but Franz Ostermaier had also brought the car! That made it all complete and here's some proof. More on this fabulous edition later!

I placed a general album on the DeLaatFoto Facebook page here, will share a few highlights later. For now I'm highlighting the Fruit of the Loom GS Tuning DRM car ex Markus Höttinger. The car was prepped by Britec Motorsports and driven by owner Christopher Stahl and it's currently offered for sale. Later: a special on the Jägermeister car, probably one of the most untouched examples around. Oh BTW the camera was struggling to capture the bright blue of the car!

Thanks gents, was a great weekend and looking back on the photos it looks even better than I remembered. But Gerrit is right, ever had so much rain on one OGP weekend before... and that's early August! I've been coming here every year since 2003 and it is quite likely I will be there this year as well.

Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. The "Ring" has certainly changed. I was last there in 1969.
