e21 Glovebox Broken - Help !

Yup. That's the most common failure on glovebox locks.

I've rechecked mine and my I have the catch that is missing from e21paddy's car intact so I can open and close the glovebox by lifting the little metal lever on the glovebox (which is good). My only problem is how to attach the handle.

e21paddy - if you work this out once you receive the catch let me know. My handle looks exactly the same as yours !

The handle screws on from the inside of the glovebox

Apologies for the delay in getting back on this.

I've undone the screws from the inside of the glovebox and this connects the brass component in the picture above. With this off I compared this with the handle in my hand - it would appear that they are connected by a long thin pin or two pins from both sides. Does this sound about right? If so does anyone know the part number for this?

I can’t instantly help you with that part number and I do not know if it can be bought separately. That’s why I swapped the complete handle from an e30 and switched the lock with my own.
