LEDA front coilovers had to go off to Gaz for rebuild. Unfortunately they'd corroded badly and so have to be replaced which means another 2 week delay. :stupidme

Nice work.

Race car shell was stripped & caged today. Fiberglass panels and Gruppe2 arch kit are going on next and then the whole car gets painted white inside & out, while waiting for suspension from GAZ. Trying to get ready for Retro Rides Gathering on August 18th. :launch This is the look am going for.

Jeroen, could you plz. post somewhere in here the guidelines (or is there a relevant thread already?) on the E30 rear calipers conversion?
I can't print out from facebook and I want to give my mechanic a how to general guideline, as Nas is sending me rear arms from 323i with E30 calipers.

It's been in the top tech topics for a while already: http://www.bmwe21.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=20181 (in that section you can also find several threads on front brake upgrades)

I'm hoping for 900 - 925kgs but I'm unsure how achievable that is? (hopefully Ben or Jason may know?)

The rewire has started on MIB. The word that stood out most was 'headache' so I don't think its much fun. Also started fitting the rear cage, so that it can be painted after the weekend.

That target weight should be fairly easy. Mine still had lots that could be removed and weighed just under 940kgs with the M20 in it.

M20 on TB's
full servo brake setup
Perspex door windows (not fitted the pop outs yet)
Perspex rear screen
fibreglass boot / bonnet / front wings
interior sound deadening removed
simple 6 point cage bolt-in with welded feet
handbrake still fitted
still undersealed under the floor
single pipe stainless exhaust system
Sunroof removed (including cassette)
13" compomotive wheels and R888 225/45/13's

Things that could get lighter:
fit pop out Perspex
non sunroof shell
remove undeseal
remove brake system and fit pedal box
remove std wiring loom and fit simple light version
New lighter gauges and controls
Remove any excess brackets throughout the bodyshell
Drill holes for lightening any non structural panels.
remove heater matrix and pipes etc. fit electric demister.

theres probably lots more

I did not do so well this morning. Sun and great weather. Dry fine roads were reason enough to try the car a bit. I had to push it a little extra, as there were few cars on the road. Then I came to a long left turn, without barriers, with water on the right side, I could not hold the bend. I noticed that it slipped a little and it went sideways out of the way and rolled on the roof in the water. 323 `n was completely destroyed.

I woke up and I found myself in the hunting lodge. Hard morning.
