Yeah man, if your going for the wide arch blend it all in. I think the riveted look is shite!

I like the rivets! What I don't like so much, is the way the bumpers get in the way. It all looks a bit clumsy but I guess you're limited to what you can do. I prefer the rivets to having half a ton of filler that cracks and falls off on the first bump in the road.

Yeah there is that. Personally just think they dont suit the car. If it was all rally'd up then maybe.

Mark if is just to get decent rubber on then dips from the zone who has a bodyshop near heathrow could pull the arch's out 1-2" easy
Also on my car I have used rivnuts to bolt the arch's on as you can not change the wheel with them on, but long rivit's and a bead around the edge is the way forward if you want to go that route

Have decided to see Dips and find out how far the standard arches can be stretched/flared? If I can get an inch or two, then I'll do that. Thanks though.

Yeah, I've been in touch with Dips and am just waiting on him having a slot to fit me in. Unfortunately, with the show season coming up, he's really busy with VW's but hopefully it won't be too long till it's in to get sorted.
Other than that, my cars running really well at the moment. Since the head was refurb'd and the Schrick cam fitted, it had to go back and have the cam oil seals replaced after the rear one failed. Eventually it was all sorted out and new breather pipes fitted and routed to an alloy catch tank. I was a bit concerned at the amount of vapour and oil residue that was finding its way into the AFM & air filter but Jason was kind enough to offer the benefit of his experience. Since the head work the problem has been solved and it's back to being as it should. I do still want/need to have the under-bonnet wiring re-done though. Although the wiring works, I do think it's a bit of a bodge job and it's all pretty old & brittle now anyway.

Wrong,wrong,wrong.
Please don't put that Plastic engine in your car Mark.
If anything, M30 it, keep in times of the car.
IMO, these look totally wrong in the engine bay.

Dont forget Rav, Mark already has an m30'd 3.5 (twr 335i)

, id would say strip it and use as a track car, but mark already has one of these too

or turbo the m20...
Better still keep as is, its a minter already and spend the cash on the other too (335i/track car) or enter a small race series in the track car....

LOL - an engine looking wrong is fine if it makes the car go very fast!
I dont understand this period thing - theres hardly anything thats original in an e21 thats decent!!!!!
if Mark was going to keep in times then most of the stuff on his car would have to go as well.
Willwoods / coilovers / rims / paint? / interior etc etc.
all this you NEED in an e21 that has decent power otherwise you would crash no?
