And with the rubbers back on.

I had 1 rustspot, which needed attention.

Took out the seats and mouldings

The rust is between the panels

Took it out

Almost end of March 2015, some not much time left. I need to have it running before April 11th, the e21 springdrive.

Made me a donorplate

Image

Image

All the rust is gone. I could open up more material, but I’m affraid in no time I have two projects on my hands… So I cleaned it as good as possible and coated it with epoxy.

Image

Also the donor material

Image

When it was dry, welded it in..

Fast forward to August 2015

Somewhere in 2014 I impregnated the top. At my family vacationhome, where we stayed over in the summer, we had a couple of rainy days. Nice to see how the roof reacts to that ;)
Besides that, the boot takes on water. My guess it it runs behind the rear lights.

And the, October 13... (tuesday, not Friday). It was not a good day. It passed the MOT, but with lots of remarks. 1 shockabsorber leaks, a couple of bad balljoints, some torn rubbers. No more delay, I have to take care of the undercarriage this winter. :hammer

I grinded down the plates.

And welded it in

Image

Also a long weld on the backside.

And the reinforcement welded in.
