When you see those engine bay plaques on older Aston Martins that say 'Engine Built by Joe Bloggs - Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd' it now makes me wonder
how dedicated they were...

I have megasquirt, so I have no problem with fuel
I changed required fuel constant from 20ms to 8.2ms and made some decent tuning of fuel map because new cam and is working superb

We had a drag event this weekend. They have old time measuring device, but it´s comparable between cars who race there.
I had same time as 2 years before with 45 Solexes and 300° dBilas cam. Which is quite good if I say that it was with half consuption of fuel
I had same time as 318iS (lightened) and E9 3,0CSi.
M3 e30 was a second better same as racing 02 of my friend.
So I am happy with these results and we are going turbo very soon.

I've considered one of those manifolds in the past, let us know how you get on! I might bring one back in my suitcase when I go to the states later this year!

I used a similar solution as you with the meccano strips securing the air filter etc. I'm going to use aluminium to box off that corner leaving a hole for the filter that will mean it's shielded from the rest of the engine bay. Looks like it could be a good solution for you also. Looks tidy though.

air filter placement is very temporary
it will be on the other side of engine bay soon because of turbo
